Food, food, and more food

As I type this, my first blog post, I sit with my gut stuffed with food. The kids are asleep upstairs just waiting for Santa to come. I thank God for all that I have. It’s so easy to forget just how blessed we all are sometimes.

This year, as in past years, we had my sister and her family and my uncle and aunt over for dinner. We tried a spiral sliced ham that we picked up through Market Day at the kids’ school. It was pretty good and was a heck of a lot easier to make than a turkey. A few months back I had watched my first ever episode of Paula’s Home Cooking on the Food Network. I was really attracted to two dishes she had made and I knew I’d have to try them out over the holidays. I made Paula’s Chocolate Bread Pudding and Potato Casserole. They were both quite good and easy to make but I think the true winner was the Chocolate Bread Pudding. Both dishes were featured on the “Comfort Food” episode. Just make sure you have EMS standing by. These dishes will clog your arteries in one meal.
