Welcome To My Life

It's Official

It’s Official

Well, I’ve been in denial for a while now, but I guess it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee.  I got my AARP card in the mail today.  It’s actually just an offer to join, so I’m not REALLY a member yet.  My question is, who the heck told them I turned 50?

Mag-40: Part 3

Day two of the Mag-40 class began with a high probability of thunderstorms.  Because of this, it was decided that we would spend the entire day in the classroom. We began the day with an in-depth discussion on the legal aspects involved in the use of deadly force. Much of what Mas covers in the […]

Save A Buck..or Several Hundred

Save A Buck..or Several Hundred

For most of my life I’ve had better than 20/20 vision.  It came in handy when I was a flight instructor many years ago, and it sure helped out as a photographer!  Eventually, my eyesight began to deteriorate because of a condition that infects countless other poor souls:  Old age.  At first it wasn’t too […]

Mag-40: Part 2

Mag-40: Part 2

Continued… The drive from Wisconsin to Northern Florida was wonderful.  I could have made it straight through with only a few gas and restroom stops if I had wanted to, however, I surmised that there probably wasn’t much reason to arrive in Live Oak at 4:00am.  Being the high class individual that I am, I […]

Mag-40: Part 1

If you’re a regular visitor to my site I hope you’ll forgive me for the lack of posts lately.  A few things have been keeping me from updating things here, not the least of which is that work has been quite busy.  Another major item that has kept me away is the subject of this […]

Easy Street!

Easy Street!

Well, good people, I’ve finally done it:  I’ve finally been included in a class action legal settlement that looks like it may just allow me to quit my job and coast for the rest of my life. The class action lawsuit involved an eBay seller that I don’t even remember doing business with.  Whoever the […]

Why I Carry

Why I Carry

On November 1, 2011, Wisconsin became the 49th state to allow the legal concealed carry of handguns.  I am fiercely pro-gun so this was an exciting day for me.  In the months leading up to this moment I made sure that I had my ducks in a row.  I took an NRA sponsored class that […]

AT&T vs Verizon...FIGHT!

AT&T vs Verizon…FIGHT!

Almost two years ago I switched my cell phone provider from U.S. Cellular to AT&T.  The ONLY reason I did this was to get in on the fun that is the iPhone.  I was previously happy with U.S. Cellular so that didn’t figure into the equation at all. With AT&T I was on a family […]

The Perks of Reaching 50

The Perks of Reaching 50

I’m just over a year away from my 50th birthday.  There, I said it:  I’m getting OLD.  I have aches in places that I didn’t even know existed a few years ago.  It’s only a matter of time before I start getting invitations to join AARP.  At my advanced age, my brain has finally reached […]

Unanswered Lost Questions

Unanswered Lost Questions

I was a latecomer to the world of Lost.  When the hit TV show first premiered 6 years ago, I wasn’t interested in the least.  I actually thought it was just another Survivor type reality show.  A few months ago I was driving to a job and was discussing the show with my coworker passenger.  […]
